Job Overview
Amentum is seeking an Electrical Technician II to join our operations & maintenance team in Lancaster, Ohio. This role involves performing preventive maintenance on heating & cooling, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control & monitoring systems. The technician prioritizes work, completes tasks on time, documents all work, and assists site engineering teams to meet site electrical needs.
Responsibilities- Maintain current and future facility electrical systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and control circuits from 24V up to 480V AC, including electro‑mechanical test devices, instrumentation, PLCs/ladder logic controllers, and variable frequency drives.
- Work with 13.8kV voltage and support facility electrical expansion projects.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair critical infrastructure systems such as servers, network equipment, PLCs, system administration, access control, alarm investigation, and SCADA management.
- Provide daily assistance to technicians, read blueprints/schematics/ladder logic/sequence of operations, conduct system tours, and assess working order.
- Adhere to Federal, State and Local electrical code, NFPA
70e, and company safety regulations, including JHA, lock‑out/tag‑out, and PPE. - Perform preventive maintenance on process/production equipment via the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Respond to customers on work orders, ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Analyze and resolve work problems, assist other workers, and enforce safety regulations.
- Operate measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to support energy efficiency solutions.
- Use hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
- Maintain a strict schedule while demonstrating flexibility in daily activities and scheduling to benefit the customer.
- Promote and adhere to the Amentum Safety Structure.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–4 years of electrical experience in a data center, industrial environment, hospital, manufacturing facility or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30ft or higher.
- Self‑motivated with strong organizational/time‑management skills.
- Must pass a pre‑employment background check and substance‑abuse test.
- Capacity to obtain a security access badge at client location.
- Potential need for a valid driver’s license and various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
- Physical ability to perform repetitive wrist movements, extensive walking, climb ladders/stairs, bend/stoop/squat, reach/stretch, and differentiate wire colors.
- Read and understand printed or electronic documentation and operate office equipment.
- Communicate professionally, including telephone, group discussions, meetings, and presentations.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Wearing of steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other PPE as required.
