Job Summary The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role appropriate tasks in the implementation of care. Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance to the established FMC policies, procedures and guidelines. Job Qualifications

Education:

Associate Degree in Nursing. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Successful completion of an approved RNFA program.

Licensure & Certification:
Valid License to practice in the State of Ohio. CPR required. Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR).

Experience:

Previous operating room experience required.

Essential Job Functions Job Expectations and Responsibilities:
4. Incise and excise tissue. Close incisions. Using instruments and medical devices, providing surgical site exposure and hemostasis and suturing and wound management.
5. Accesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care of each patient according to the nursing process.
6. Provides quality care based on assessment needs and established plan of care/pathway.
7. Provides education for the patient and family/significant other from admission through discharge process.
8. Provides thorough, concise, accurate and legible documentation of the nursing process/pathway.
9. Notifies physician of pertinent observations and changes in the status of the patient.
10. Administers medications and performs treatments in an accurate safe manner.
11. Implements physician orders as written.
12. Assures equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care, reporting malfunctions to proper department. Physical Capacity Demand Medium Work:
