The Med Surg Registered Nurse delivers comprehensive high-quality, patient-centered care in medical-surgical and telemetry units. This role involves assessing patient health conditions, monitoring cardiac telemetry data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage diverse patient needs.

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, document changes, and report concerns.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and assist physicians.
• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
• Document patient information, including vital signs, medications, and care outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans.
• Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care based on acuity.
• Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed.
• Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences.
• Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate with patients, families, and external resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• One year of recent Med Surg RN experience.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.

• NIHSS certification.
• ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
• Physical abilities: remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
• Interpersonal skills: work effectively with professionals and ancillary staff.
• Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, propelling equipment during procedures.
• Mental requirements: cope with frequent contact with the public and customers under pressure, work under close supervision occasionally, handle irregular schedules, maintain concentration to detail.
• Sensory: possess visual acuity and effectively communicate.
