What You’ll Do
  • Provide patient care as directed
  • Document patient-related care timely within the electronic health record
  • Maintain patient medical records
  • Administer medications (oral and intramuscular); may administer intravenous therapy if appropriately certified
  • Perform treatments
  • Assist with Doctor’s Sick Call
  • Assist with chronic care clinics management
  • Participate in patient care planning and treatment team activities
  • Respond to emergencies and provide emergency care and data collection
  • Collect vital signs and document findings; collect urine and other body fluid specimens
  • Venipuncture for laboratory samples as needed
  • Prepare patients for release or transfer by reviewing care and completing transfer/release summaries
  • Ensure discharge medication orders are completed and relayed to pharmacy services
  • Participate in institution training and other work-related training
  • Provide assistance to other healthcare staff
  • Investigate and document problem areas
  • Review shift reports and assist physicians with procedures
  • Assume duties of other nurses during absences
  • Support assistive personnel with nursing care and patient education
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities
  • Schedule multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Perform and/or assist with inventory and ordering of medical supplies
  • Support ancillary staff to meet patient care needs
  • Must work overtime as required

Qualifications

License to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723 Ohio Revised Code; MDS certification issued by ANNAC (American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination).
