Overview

Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery in Lancaster, Ohio. This is a travel, temporary assignment starting 08/17/2026 for 13 weeks, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week and night shift. Work setting: a short-term acute care hospital. Weekly pay is $1,812 to $1,851 per week.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for obstetric patients using the nursing process; provide care aligned with the care pathway.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal status, perform electronic fetal monitoring as required, interpret tracing, and expedite non-reassuring findings per protocol.
  • Administer medications and treatments, implement physician orders, and ensure accurate, safe delivery of care.
  • Educate patients and families from admission through discharge; document thoroughly and clearly.
  • Notify and collaborate with physicians regarding pertinent changes in patient status; respond promptly to urgent situations.
  • Supervise and direct the work of nursing assistants and other team members; delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Ensure equipment and supplies are readily available; report malfunctions to the appropriate department.
Requirements
  • Active Ohio registered nurse license
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certificate (required)
  • CPR certification
  • Education:

    Associate degree in nursing;
    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Experience:

    Previous RN experience preferred; obstetric/L&D experience is advantageous
  • Ability to work nights in a high-acuity obstetric setting and meet unit demands
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills
