Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

The Staff RN in Labor and Delivery provides specialized nursing care to women during childbirth and postpartum. They are responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering quality care in a fast-paced obstetric setting.

Responsibilities:

• Assess maternal and fetal conditions regularly to detect any deviations from normal.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for laboring women and postpartum patients.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor patient responses accurately and safely.
• Educate patients and their families on labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure smooth delivery and postpartum processes.
• Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly and legibly.

Qualifications:

• Hold an associate degree in nursing; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Possess a valid Ohio nursing license.
• Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring required.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Previous labor and delivery or obstetric nursing experience preferred.
• Capable of handling multiple priorities with sound decision-making abilities.
