Nursing - MED-SURG

Job Title: MED-SURG
Location: Lancaster, Ohio
Schedule: 7:00PM - 7:00AM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate
: $52 - $56/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a MED-SURG for a temporary assignment in Lancaster, Ohio. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care of each patient according to the nursing process
• Provide quality care based on assessment needs and established plan of care/pathway
• Provide education for the patient and family/significant other from admission through discharge process
• Provide thorough, concise, accurate, and legible documentation of the nursing process/pathway
• Notify physician of pertinent observations and changes in the status of the patient
• Administer medications and perform treatments in an accurate and safe manner
• Implement physician orders as written
• Ensure equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care, reporting malfunctions to proper department
• Accept responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role-appropriate tasks in the implementation of care
• Maintain valid licensure to practice and current CPR certification
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to handle multiple priorities
• Make independent decisions and facilitate resolution to issues as needed
• Supervise and direct the work of nursing assistants in a professional manner
• Create and maintain a safe and clean work environment and report unsafe conditions to appropriate individuals
• Comply with all established policies, procedures, work instructions, and guidelines
• Complete all mandatory education and participate in learning events and opportunities to enhance on-the-job performance
