Cook - Camp Forbes

Under immediate supervision, prepares and cooks food in a hospital or institution. Performs related duties as required. TYPICAL TASKS:
Supervises the preparation of meals. Prepares and cooks meats, vegetables, and soups. Prepares cereals, desserts, salads, and special diets. Prepares breakfast, dinner, or supper. Serves food at steam tables. Weighs food for diabetic patients. Tags carts. Delivers food to dining room. Clears tables. Cleans utensils, sinks, tables, and other equipment. Handles supplies. Maintains food records. Takes inventory of supplies.

A High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required. Three (3) years of full-time paid experience in commercial, institutional, or related volume food preparation including one (1) year preparing meals according to specialized diets.

Additional Duties/Responsibilities

Hours vary Monday (6am) through Friday (8pm).

TYPICAL TASKS:
Responsible for maintaining food records. Cooks meals for campers and staff. Retains food holding temperatures according to Cuyahoga Board of Health standards. Prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner. Organize evening snacks. Prep for meals service. Cleans utensils, sinks, tables, and other equipment. Ensure proper usage of commercial equipment. Prepare meals according to health/allergen risk as noted by parents. Monitor refrigeration temperatures and keep accurate refrigeration records.

Check in and review all expiration dates on food deliveries. Submit invoices received by vendors for all food and supplies received. Record dates on all food items not completely used. Make reports on the condition of the kitchen and reports any issues. Maintain all records of the supplies received. Report any unresolved issues with vendors to manager. Report any equipment, staffing, and/or food prep issues to manager.

Maintain a clean and organized office area.

Under immediate supervision. Prepares and cooks food/meals for campers and staff. Works varied shifts Monday (6am) thru Friday (5pm). Serving 100-150 people daily. Works according to Serv Safe health practices and the Board of Health regulations and policies. Provide nutritious meal based on the State of Ohio Health and Nutrition Guidelines. Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
