Express Lube Technician
The Express Lube Technician performs light vehicle maintenance and repairs according to management direction, adhering to dealership and industry standards. This role ensures high-quality service and contributes to overall customer satisfaction. The position requires teamwork, physical dexterity, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities- Documents and performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy following all dealership and factory standards.
- Recommends lubrication, safety inspection, and other related services to customers.
- Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.
- Replaces oil and air filters.
- Inspects vehicle fluid levels and replaces or replenishes as necessary.
- Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins and completes specified training.
- Keeps shop area neat and clean.
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Must have a strong physical dexterity for working with tools
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others and be a team player
- Strong communication skills
- Punctual and reliable
To effectively perform the duties of an Express Lube Technician, you must be able to stand on your feet on hard surfaces, like concrete or metal. Expect to work in an environment in which you may frequently experience hot and cold temperatures, loud noises and exhaust fumes. Other physical qualifications for a Lube Technician include:
- Must be able to operate equipment such as overhead and floor mounted oil and grease guns, transmission machine, air conditioner service machine, radiator service machine, hand tools and basic office equipment
- Must be able to lift and move work-related items up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands
- Have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive vehicles
