Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for a full-time, 10-month Academic Department Coordinator - Economics & Religious Studies.

Job Description:
The Academic Department Coordinator provides coordination for department activities and administrative and secretarial support to the Department chair and faculty members as requested. This position will independently organize department workflow and projects to ensure timely and accurate completion of responsibilities. The Academic Coordinator is flexible and able to meet the administrative needs of any academic work unit.
Essential Functions:
* Coordinate daily office workflow, prioritize, organize and complete routine administrative tasks by updating and maintaining department files, databases; researching, compiling and generating reports; responding to inquiries and answering phone calls; preparing and distributing correspondence, memos, mailings, schedules, exams and manuscripts; monitor and maintain office equipment and department facilities and spaces. Serve as a department liaison to other departments and offices along with off-campus vendors.
* Provide the department chair with administrative support by monitoring department operating budget and monthly reconciliation. Provide detailed support of the new faculty search process. Track search related expenditures and maintain the recruiting database. Assist new chairs as a resource for prior department history, academic year cycle of events, trends and traditions. Process paperwork for new majors and minors. Research, compile and generate reports as requested by chair.
* Support faculty and department by maintaining and organizing a calendar of department events; coordinate department meetings, luncheons, receptions, and guest speakers. Create department promotional materials and maintain the department website. Supervise student employees and provide administrative assistance to student organizations and clubs. Prepare purchase orders, process reimbursements and reconcile P-card purchases.
* Provide and support coordination of new faculty hiring and onboarding processes. Support faculty with the development of department course schedules and assist with publications. Coordinate travel arrangements for faculty. Prepare library reserve lists for faculty each semester and serve as a liaison between libraries and department faculty; prepare materials for senior, interim and tenure reviews.
* All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED.
* At least 1 year of administrative and/or secretarial experience at a professional level.
* Intermediate level of proficiency with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.
* Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
* Proficiency in Google Suite Products (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive)
* Evidence of a commitment to community and belonging.
* Successful interview.
* Successful completion of background checks.
Additional Information:
Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of reference checks, a criminal background verification, and verification of credentials. The College will coordinate these verifications.
