This position performs a variety of moderately complex clerical work involving the typing and processing of documents in a variety of functions. As a Clerk Typist 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Set up and type letters, general instructions, reports, and other office correspondence and documents.
- Perform electronic scanning and filing, develop charts and spreadsheets, and complete data entry to input client information into state and county databases.
- Answer phones, greet clients, and respond accurately to questions about County policies and regulations.
- Check forms for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with procedural requirements; check computations for accuracy and make corrections.
- Assist caseworkers, supervisors, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.

Starting salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases.
- Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
- Any combination of equivalent experience and training.
- You must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet Pennsylvania residency requirements, follow the Residency Guidelines.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
