Clerical Officer – Children and Families Services

Role Overview

As a Clerical Officer within Children and Families Services, you will provide essential administrative support that helps ensure children, young people and families receive high‑quality care and support across our communities. Working alongside Health Visitors, Community Nursery Nurses and wider multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient service delivery and accurate record management.

Duration, Location and Working Pattern
  • Part‑time, Permanent
  • Based between Drumchapel Health Centre & Plean Street Clinic
  • Shift Pattern:
    Monday – Thursday 09:00 – 15:00 and Friday 09:00 – 14:42
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to Children and Families teams, ensuring an efficient and effective service
  • Manage telephone enquiries, take messages and direct calls appropriately while delivering excellent customer service
  • Arrange appointments, meetings, room bookings and interpreter services as required
  • Input, maintain and retrieve information accurately from electronic systems and databases
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, scanning, filing, photocopying and document management activities
  • Support records management, archiving processes, procurement activities and stock control procedures
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, correspondence, meeting documentation and statistical information
Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and Experience
  • Standard Grade English or equivalent qualification
  • Good keyboard skills with the ability to accurately input and maintain information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional and courteous approach
  • Experience of working within an office or administrative environment and using office systems and equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Word
  • Ability to prioritise workload, work independently when required and use initiative appropriately
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
