This role supports office operations that ensure clear processing of applications, case updates, and client communication for public assistance programs. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Application Processing: Access CIS menus to complete file clearance, register applications, and update case grant records
- Case Initiation: Enter client information into staging areas to prepare cases for Income Maintenance activities
- Case Maintenance: Perform data entry of demographic updates, process OTI actions, and reconcile case information
- Reapplication Tasks: Compile forms, prepare letters, send notices, and process IEVS data for recertification
- Benefit Monitoring: Use EBT systems to review card activity, investigate issues, and help resolve benefit distribution problems
- Document Control: Follow audit procedures to track, secure, issue, and dispose of controlled documents and supplies
- Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
- Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with district offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
- Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Lancaster, PA.
The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview. - Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- Graduation from high school;or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Lancaster County. If no eligible candidates who live within Lancaster County apply for this position candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
