VETERINARY Practice Manager

The pay range for this role is $70,204 – $101,406 annually. The pay range listed reflects a general hiring range for the area, with the specific rate determined based on the candidate’s experience, skill level, abilities, and education, and may vary depending on location and schedule.

Job Purpose and Function

In partnership with the chief of staff, the Practice Manager plays a vital role in the hospital, managing day‑to‑day operations so the medical team can devote their time to delivering the highest quality veterinary care. Your medical practice management skills will be put to use to drive business results, and your people leadership skills will come into play as you develop associates and foster an engaging team environment.

Along with a team of knowledgeable pet health care experts, you’ll ensure that clients and patients have a positive experience when they visit the hospital. Through a professional relationship with other stakeholders, including the veterinary medical team, field leadership, our corporate headquarters and Pet Smart associates (if applicable), you’ll be helping optimize the growth of both businesses. Responsibilities
  • Interview, hire and develop associates.
  • Evaluate the hospital’s processes, progress and productivity.
  • Educate associates on Banfield guidelines and practices.
  • Budget and plan for the hospital.
  • Support daily operations and staff.
  • Schedule associates, coordinate time off and manage continuing education needs.
  • Train associates to educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventive care, pet health needs and hospital services.
Qualifications
  • Required Education/Licenses:
    Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Required Experience:

    Three years related experience, including direct supervisory experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem‑solving aptitude.
  • Conflict management and leadership experience.
  • Analytical know‑how.
