This position will serve as a key leader within our growing Perimeter Security Division, and will be critical in supporting project execution, estimating, quality control, and operational development. As a startup division focused on federal, military, embassy, critical infrastructure, and data center projects, the successful candidate must be comfortable wearing multiple hats and contributing throughout the entire project lifecycle, from preconstruction estimating and procurement support through installation, commissioning, closeout, and warranty support.
The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, hands-on construction experience, and a working knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems associated with perimeter security installations. This individual will work closely with the Program Manager to help build and grow Harden Secure's national perimeter security operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Field Operations & Construction Management:
- Lead and supervise daily field operations for perimeter security construction projects.
- Manage installation crews consisting of 3-5 personnel and coordinate subcontractors as required.
- Conduct project planning, site coordination, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Perform site layout, benchmark verification, field measurements, and grade checks.
- Oversee excavation, trenching, rebar installation, formwork, concrete placement, and equipment anchorage.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with contract documents, manufacturer requirements, and project schedules.
- Coordinate directly with owners, government representatives, general contractors, inspectors, manufacturers, and security integrators.
- Lead project commissioning activities, owner training, and project turnover.
Oversee installation and commissioning of:
- Crash-rated active vehicle barriers (AVBs)
- Passive vehicle barriers (PVBs)
- Fixed and retractable bollards
- Wedge barriers and drop arm barriers
- Crash-rated slide, swing, and bifold gates
- Vehicle access control systems
- Turnstiles and pedestrian access systems
- Access control and security integration components
- Crash-rated and fortified perimeter fencing systems
- Support the Program Manager with project estimating and proposal development.
- Review drawings, specifications, Statements of Work (SOWs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and technical requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam Revu and other estimating software.
- Develop material quantities for fencing, gates, crash-rated barriers, concrete, conduit, controls, electrical infrastructure, and related site work.
- Assist with labor planning, equipment forecasting, and project budgeting.
- Solicit supplier and subcontractor pricing as required.
- Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, and potential project risks during bid review.
- Assist with the development of ROM budgets, turnkey estimates, and final proposal pricing.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and customer coordination calls.
- Serve as project Quality Control representative when required.
- Develop and maintain quality control documentation, inspection reports, deficiency logs, and punch lists.
- Verify installations comply with approved submittals, contract requirements, manufacturer specifications, and applicable industry standards.
- Conduct pre-installation, in-process, and final inspections.
- Support project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, as-built drawings, commissioning reports, testing records, and closeout packages.
- Coordinate with Government Quality Assurance Representatives, Contracting Officers, Resident Engineers, and third-party inspectors.
- Support implementation of project-specific Quality Control Plans.
- Maintain project records in accordance with federal contract requirements.
- Lead daily safety meetings and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism.
- Ensure crews maintain safe work practices and proper documentation.
- U.S. Citizen
- Minimum 7 years of experience in civil construction, structural concrete, industrial construction, perimeter security, gate systems, or related trades.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supervising field crews and construction operations.
- Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, architectural, electrical, and site utility drawings.
- Experience with concrete foundations, excavation, equipment anchorage, and mechanical installations.
- Experience performing construction quantity takeoffs and estimating support activities.
