Emergency Medicine - Physician Position specific questions
· Reason for the need? o Open FTE positions

· What are expectations for orientation? ie shadow day? EMR training? o 2 shadow/orientation shifts

· Experience level? o Minimum 2 yrs Credentialing questions:
· Will emergency privileges be an option? o Case by case basis
· Are case logs needed? If so what are the requirements? o Yes. Standard case logs determined by HWS. Hospital/unit questions
· Number of ER Bays? o 24 beds 7 vertical pathway 2 intake rooms
· Number of Patients/Hour? o 1.6-1.8
· What’s the patient mix? o Mainly 2’s and 3’s
· Trauma center designation? o LVL II
· Is there nurse/APP Triage for lower acuity? o Yes Specialty Specific Questions:
Emergency Medicine
· Shift lengths? o 9 hour shifts
· AM and PM Shift Coverage Needed? o Yes both
· Staffing Model:
How many other EM Providers are on at the same time? o There are a minimum of 1 physician and 1 APP during the day.
· What does support staff include? o Normal ER support staff
· ED Admission Rate? o 35 Extra:
What additional details are beneficial to know to assist in recruiting? - Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a fast paced ED requiring high efficiency. There are two FSER’s associated with the main facility which see approximately 13-17 pts per day each. This locums position would likely be mostly working at the main ED however there is the possibility of needing some hours to be allocated to the FSER’s.
