Special Education Teacher, Long Term Substitute

Qualifications

Active PA Special Education PK-12 or PK-8 certification is required.

Bachelor's and/or Master's in Education is required.

The School District of Springfield Township is seeking candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills, the desire to work with energetic students, and the ability to relate well within the school community. This position will be a Special Education Teacher, Long Term Substitute in a learning support classroom 3rd grade classroom. • Plan, prepare, and deliver standards-based instruction in all core subject areas.
• Create a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional learning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of all students.
• Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with other grade-level/subject-area teachers, specialists, and support staff.
• Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events.

Long Term Substitute position to be determined in accordance with the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement. Position to begin August 24, 2026 through the end of the  school year. Please note that induction will take place the week of August 17th.
