Marching Band is a club that is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students at Marple Newtown and offers the students a multitude of activities as well as an opportunity to socialize and make lasting friendships.

  Experience working with school age students and coordinating and managing events.
• Skills:
  
  Strong managerial, organizational, and communication skills.
• Education:
  
  Valid PA teaching certificate.
• Ability to work with students of all ability levels.

• A faculty advisor acts as a liaison between the school administration and the club, providing guidance to student leaders and members.
• Advisors work with student leaders to plan events and create opportunities for inclusion.
• Advisors work with program staff to communicate information, and support and build lasting relationships.
• Advisors will supervise all club-related events and meetings.
• Design and develop marching band drill that aligns with the musical selection and overall show concept, ensuring effective staging, transitions, and visual impact.
• Utilize drill design software to create, revise, and communicate drill charts and coordinate sheets in a clear and timely manner for instructional staff and students.
• Collaborate with the Marching Band Director and instructional staff to ensure alignment of drill with musical phrasing, visual elements, and performance goals.
• Support implementation of drill during rehearsals by assisting with teaching formations, adjusting staging as needed, and ensuring student safety and effective use of performance space.
• Has read and understands obligations as outlined in MNSD School Board Policies.
• Other duties as assigned by Administration.

Frequency of meetings:
September – June; meet 1/week for an hour; 8-10 events per year.

Approximate number of students enrolled:
Approximately 40 students.

Clearances:
In accordance with the school code, Act 24 and All related clearances.
