The Hi-Q Academic Team Advisor assumes the responsibilities of facilitating academic preparation, managing team logistics, ensuring compliance with competition rules, and fostering a supportive environment for student competition.
Qualifications- Experience: Experience working with school age students while preparing them for academic quiz competition.
- Skills: Strong managerial, organizational, and communication skills.
- Education: Valid PA teaching certificate.
- Register and ensure compliance, managing official team registration and ensuring adherence to league and competition rules, including those established by DCIU or similar organizations affiliated with the competition.
- Plan and facilitate team practices, organizing regular meetings, providing study materials, and supporting student preparation across subject areas for competitions.
- Coordinate logistics, including arranging transportation, managing permission slips, and scheduling competitions.
- Coach and mentor students, guiding team strategy, identifying individual strengths and weaknesses, and advising on study and competition techniques.
- Supervise and maintain a positive team environment, mediating conflicts, monitoring behavior, and serving as the primary liaison with parents, school administration, and competition organizers.
- Has read and understands obligations as outlined in MNSD School Board Policies.
- Other duties as assigned by Administration.
September – June; after school throughout the school year. Quiz competitions occur during the school day.
Approximate Number of Students EnrolledApproximately 15 students.
ClearancesIn accordance with the school code, Act 24 and all related clearances.
