Computer Education Teacher

Job Title

JOB GOALS:
To ensure that each student will think critically, communicate effectively, understand cultural heritage and diversity, respect human dignity, be responsible to self and community, and become a contributing member of society

• Expertise in the areas of cyber security and computer science.
• Create a classroom atmosphere that cultivates a passion for the field of computer science while providing students with outstanding opportunities to learn and grow.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to provide students with authentic project-based learning experiences.
• Demonstrate appropriate planning and implement outstanding pedagogical practices.
• Prioritize utilizing data to drive instruction.
• Maintain student records, including all required paperwork.
• Communicate regularly with parents and be available for educational purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
• Attend staff meetings and department meetings.
• Demonstrate and maintain current knowledge in the field of education.

• Maintain program resources inventory.
• Supervise corridors, cafeteria, etc.
• Assist in emergency situations.

• PA teacher certification in Technology Education (PK-12), Business, Computer, & Information Technology (PK-12), or Mathematics (7-12).
• Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred.
• Strong motivational, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a team.
• Ability to effectively communicate with, instruct, and work with students.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable and appropriate.
