Civil CAD Designer
Job Description
This role focuses on preparing and revising detailed civil CAD drawings, plans, and layouts that support engineering designs and construction projects. You will work closely with engineers and project teams to develop site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, and construction documents using modern CAD software. The position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to drafting standards and codes, and the ability to coordinate design updates across multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare and revise detailed CAD drawings, plans, and layouts based on engineering designs and specifications.
+ Assist engineers and project managers in developing site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, and construction documents.
+ Use CAD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or similar tools to create accurate 2D and 3D models.
+ Maintain drawing files, drafting standards, and project documentation in accordance with company and client requirements.
+ Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
+ Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to incorporate design updates, comments, and revisions into project drawings.
+ Support integration of field data, including survey information and as-built conditions, into CAD models and drawings.
+ Stay current with CAD technologies, drafting standards, and industry best practices, and apply them to improve drawing quality and efficiency.
Essential Skills
+ 1 to 3 years of experience in drafting or design.
+ 2 to 3 years of experience in civil-related projects.
+ Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D for creating civil engineering drawings and models.
+ Hands-on drafting experience for civil projects, including site plans, grading plans, and utility layouts.
+ Ability to produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD models from engineering designs and specifications.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to perform thorough quality checks on drawings.
+ Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and drafting practices in civil design.
+ Ability to maintain organized drawing files and project documentation.
+ Effective communication and coordination skills for working with engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications
+
Experience with land development projects is desirable.
+
Experience with stormwater management design is desirable.
+
Experience with Revit or similar CAD/BIM tools is an advantage.
+ General knowledge of civil design principles and CAD-based design workflows.
+ Willingness to stay current with evolving CAD technologies and industry best practices.
Work Environment
You will work in a professional office environment that relies on CAD technologies such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and related design tools. The role involves consistent use of computers and CAD software to produce detailed civil drawings and models, as well as regular collaboration with engineers, project managers, and other team members. Work is primarily project-based, with a focus on accuracy, documentation, and adherence to established drafting standards and procedures.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
