Alta Design Associates is seeking an experienced Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or licensed Professional Engineer (PE) who is looking for more than a traditional consulting position.
We are a multidisciplinary engineering firm providing architectural, civil, structural, geotechnical, and forensic engineering services throughout Pennsylvania and the surrounding region. Our projects range from custom homes and commercial developments to dams, retaining walls, structural investigations, and forensic engineering assignments.
Unlike larger firms where engineers often specialize in a single discipline, Alta engineers are involved throughout the entire project lifecycle—from client meetings and field investigations to design, permitting, construction observation, and project management.
This position offers an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious engineer to assume increasing responsibility, work directly with clients, and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of a well-established consulting practice.
Responsibilities- Civil and structural engineering design
- Site development and grading
- Stormwater management
- Foundation and retaining wall design
- Structural evaluations and rehabilitation
- Field investigations and engineering inspections
- Construction administration
- Engineering reports and technical documentation
- Client meetings and proposal preparation
- Project scheduling and coordination
- Mentoring junior engineers and interns
Depending on experience, the successful candidate may also manage projects independently and serve as Engineer of Record where appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering
- Engineer-in-Training certification or Professional Engineer license
- 3–15 years of consulting engineering experience
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license

Experience with Civil 3D, structural analysis software, GIS, or surveying technologies is a plus but not required.
