- Completes schematic capture and net list generation of electrical designs using the Altium Design tool
- Develops printed circuit board (PCB) layout of complex multi-layer and rigid flex circuit board designs
- Completes PCB Gerber file generation, ordering, and design file coordination with fabrication house
- Drives PCB development for prototype/proof-of-concept for electrical designs
- Completes surface mount component rework of printed circuit boards and component replacement as needed
- Runs and documents electrical and system tests
- Runs and documents various EMC tests
Required Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Knowledge of digital/analog circuit design and communication protocols such as SPI, UART, I2C
- Solid interpersonal skills in design collaboration with the electrical engineering team
- Creative Problem Solving Skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Tools
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Preferred Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer or other similar software
- Knowledge of the PCB/PCBA manufacturing process
- Knowledge of electrical design implementation to meet EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) standards
- Must be pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics or other relevant Engineering discipline, from an ABET-accredited program, and have completed at least one semester of Sophomore year before beginning this co-op rotation.
