Job Description

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and commissioning, qualification, and validation services for technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a talented Senior Commissioning Engineer, MCHT to join our dedicated team at our headquarters in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania
.

In this role, you will perform non-pharma and cGMP commissioning‑based services with primary focus on standalone commissioning. You will also consult on and manage commissioning projects as developed and defined in project agreements with IPS’ clients. Additionally, you will perform site auditing, quality reviews, and commissioning services as required to meet project requirements.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Develops business opportunities and projects with a primary focus on commissioning and related consulting. Provides client management functions.
  • Demonstrated/recognized areas of expertise by the industry in start‑up and commissioning.
  • Provide working knowledge in the delivery of technical projects in these areas.
  • Provide consulting‑based services in areas of expertise.
  • Manages project teams delivering primarily standalone commissioning.
  • Works with Regional Compliance Managers to manage the utilization goals of the focused team.
  • Support, train, mentor, and guide Commissioning Consultants and overall department staff in the delivery of commissioning services and areas of expertise.
  • Perform commissioning‑related audits of clients’ facilities and quality systems.
  • Assumes Project Management/Project Executive roles as requested and required to meet the IPS workload demands.
  • Provide training and seminar presentations to the industry.
  • Network at professional functions and develop project leads and opportunities through industry contacts.
  • Support strategic BD activities through networking.
  • Work with the IPS department managers to develop and apply quality practices for all project deliverables and business practices.
  • In conjunction with the department managers, performs project audits to ensure all project goals are being met, and compliance services are offered as a value‑added product to IPS’ clients.
  • Generate and perform commissioning deliverable activities, audits, and other related services as required, to meet project requirements and personal billability goals.
  • Work with potential new and existing clients to initiate projects following current industry practices.
  • Lead strategic and master planning efforts to ensure projects are effectively scoped, aligned with objectives, and successfully launched.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Bachelor of Science in a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Medical Device Design, Construction, Commissioning, Validation, or QA.
  • Experience with commissioning and other CQV activities and processes.
  • Detailed experience in a commissioning discipline with a knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical Design/Build/Commission/Validate processes and how they relate to regulatory requirements and cGMP regulations within the E.U. and U.S. FDA.
  • Familiar with LEED commissioning requirements.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb ladders as necessary.
Work Environment
  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying working conditions.
  • Must be able to adhere to strict cleanroom gowning protocols.
Travel
  • Travel based on the project location.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Travel will be per the IPS Travel Policy, client‑specific travel policy, or project‑specific travel plan.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
Safety
  • This position is a safety‑sensitive position.
  • The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non‑administrative" areas.
