Relay Testing Technician Job Lancaster area,Pennsylvania USA,Engineering

Experienced in performing testing and commissioning activities on reliability upgrades in energized substations (Brownfield or Greenfield).
Capable of developing Isolation plans & Procedures for the removal of existing equipment and Installation of new equipment.
Understanding of electrical circuits, power systems, and related technologies.
Participating in project planning, scheduling, and execution, ensuring deadlines are met.
Capable of developing work plans for substation projects. This includes working with the commissioning engineer / start-up coordinator, substation construction staff, electricians, etc. to compile all the work activities into an overall work plan.
Must be able to proficiently read drawings and understand various protection schemes.
Assist with testing of substation Scada systems, substation annunciators, and other substation data network devices.
Provide field support to the electrical contractors in the wiring of the substation, protective relaying, and control systems, verifying the wiring is fully complete by the design/ engineered red lines (As-Builts), and assist in the pre-energization checkout and testing to ensure the control schemes work as intended.
Ensuring the safety of themselves and their team, following safety procedures and Protocols.
Proficient in applying Human Performance tools for projects to create a safe workspace.
Effectively communicating with team members, clients, and supervisors.
Providing training and mentorship to other technicians, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.
Knowledge of various substation equipment, including protective relays, circuit breakers, transformers, and more.
Thorough knowledge of substation safety procedures and practices.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective communication with team members and clients.
Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegating tasks effectively and providing guidance.
Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and develop solutions.

Qualifications:

Minimum associate's degree in electrical technology with 5+ years with Substation field
experience or 7+ years with Substation field experience.
Must be willing to travel to OH/PA for several weeks at a time.
Strong understanding of electrical theory and mathematical concepts
Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints
Experience with testing and commissioning of substation equipment and systems
Ability to work safely with high voltage equipment and systems
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
