A well-established, privately owned Senior Living group operating across multiple states in the north-east is looking for a Chief Financial Officer. The business has been under consistent ownership for over thirty years.

The incoming CFO will take full ownership of the finance function and work in close partnership with the Chief Executive. This is a hands on role with the expectation that the CFO is across the numbers and present in the business, not managing from a distance.

The role

You will have direct responsibility for the financial management of the group. You will advise the chief executive and ownership on financial strategy, capital structure and growth. You will also run the day-to-day.

This is not a position for someone who delegates downward and reports upward. The business wants a CFO who knows their numbers, leads their team by example and is capable of working through the detail when the situation requires it.

  • Full accountability for financial reporting, planning, treasury and controls
  • Close financial counsel to the chief executive and ownership group
  • Day-to-day leadership of a small finance team
  • Management of banking relationships, debt facilities and external advisors
  • Oversight of audit, compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Financial support for acquisitions, refinancing and growth
The person

You will have reached senior level in finance within a multi-site operating business. A background in Senior Living, healthcare or real estate is preferred. You will understand the relationship between operational performance and financial outcome.

You will have worked within a privately held company and will know how to operate close to ownership.

You will be a qualified accountant with ten or more years of relevant experience, a meaningful period at or near CFO level.

You will be the kind of person who is trusted with matters of consequence. People will have worked for you, and the numbers will have been right.

  • Senior finance leadership in a multi-site operating business
  • Background in Senior Living, healthcare, real estate or comparable sector
  • Experience with in a privately held or family‑owned business
  • Qualified accountant with demonstrable CFO-level experience
  • Commercially sharp, hands‑on and capable of leading a small team
  • Settled in the north‑east and available to be present in the business
