THE POSITION
Located in Honesdale, PA
- Wayne County Area Agency on Aging Transportation Department is seeking qualified applicants interested in expanding their administrative skills in a professional public service environment. This position supports the transportation needs of consumers by managing intake, reservations, records, and communication across the agency. The role requires strong organizational skills and consistent attention to detail. As a Clerk 2 (Local Government), you will perform the following duties:
- Consumer Intake:
Handle intake duties, update registrations, and assist consumers with required forms - Trip Scheduling:
Take reservations by phone and enter accurate trip information into the computer system - Data Accuracy:
Verify geo-codes, maintain consumer files, and check reimbursement requests for correctness - Operational Support:
Direct drivers, monitor vehicle locations, and help with daily scheduling and driver logs - Communication:
Provide clear information to consumers, drivers, staff, and the public - Compliance:
Follow transportation laws, policies, and procedures, especially during incidents or accidents
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday
- Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work schedule includes irregular, evening, and weekend hours. - Occasional travel in and out of the county for meetings may be required.
- Telework:

- Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum; or
- Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
