Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Physicians - Hospitalist Group is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to expand upon an already well-established hospitalist program composed of over 40 advanced practice providers and 50 physicians where you will work side by side with our physicians as clinical colleagues.

This position would be a mix of 0.5 FTE as inpatient hospitalist at Lancaster General Hospital and 0.5 FTE Internal Medicine consultative coverage at Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital.

Lancaster General Hospital - 0.5 FTE component:
At LGH, the APP will function as an inpatient hospitalist, performing primary rounding, admissions and consultations, discharge management, and intermittent cross-coverage responsibilities. This role aligns with the standard hospitalist service model, providing 10-hour shifts within a 7-on/7-off schedule and occasional evening swing shifts. As part of our team, you have the opportunity to practice within a well-supported environment coordinating and providing medical care for hospitalized patients across inpatient, observation, and rehabilitation service lines, supported by a dedicated nocturnist team.

Procedures are not required.

Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital - 0.5 FTE component:
The 0.5 FTE role provides Internal Medicine consultative services at Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital in support of the PM&R attending physician. This is a daytime-only, seven-day-per-week consultative service with no evening or night call. Responsibilities include managing general medical issues and supporting coordinated, discharge planning in a team-based rehabilitation care in collaboration with PM&R and the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.

Hours: Full-time, 7 days on/7 days off, 10-hour shifts.

Position Requirements:

Nurse Practitioner
  • Valid Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license and Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania
  • Certification by ANCC or other qualifying agency in area of specialty required. This position requires the Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification.
  • Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum one-year experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred
Physician Assistant
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant by PA Board of Medicine
  • Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant training program
  • Minimum one-year experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred
