Summary:
The position reports directly to the Production Supervisor of the branch. This role is responsible for the successful execution of production activities. The position requires the ability to implement and control plans to achieve production goals and efficiency targets for the branch.
The focus and scope of this job is to ensure that the Production department:
Dedication and commitment and the pursuit of high standards of achievement are expected in this position.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Trains employees; plans and assigns work; solves basic day-to-day problems.
- Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Moves materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
- Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Marks materials with identifying information and records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly.
- Inspects equipment and reports any issues to the Production manager
- Works alongside other produiction employees.
- Treats employees with dignity and respect. setting a good example for other employees.
- Uses computer to enter records and compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications
- Perform other incidental and related duties as may be required and assigned.
- Experience in following direction carefully
- Familiarity with door components and assembly techniques.
- Basic analytical, reasoning, and math abilities.
- Basic verbal communication skills.
- Use of hands to feel, manipulate, or handle; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Frequently standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting of 50-85 pounds and/or pushing 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires the proper use of safety equipment such as protective eyewear, earplugs, hard toe shoes, etc.
