Electronics Test Technician
SUMMARY: Apply electrical principles to assemble, install and test electrical wiring, components, and equipment into industrial control panels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Conduct functional testing of energized equipment with voltages up to 480V.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and other electrical components.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a lead.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality control to review bill of materials, drawings, and schematics.
- Demonstrate electrical safety practices and use of proper PPE as required.
- Manufacture prototypes of new products, identifying problems, and providing feedback.
- Work with production engineers to obtain new tools and equipment when required.
- Perform complex wiring and assembly operations on assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Keep workspace organized and clean.
- Use and maintain fabrication tools for electrical and mechanical assemblies such as crimpers, wire stripping tools, and label machines.
- Perform any other similar or associated duties necessary to accomplish job objectives, or as assigned by the manager.
- Education:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program is required. Electrical safety training such as NFPA 70E or similar is preferred. - Experience:
2-4 years electrical work with industrial control panels or 3-5 years of experience or transferable knowledge from similar industries required. - Language and Communication
Skills:
The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Fluent in English. - Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret charts. - Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. - Independent Work:
Demonstrated capacity to manage tasks and projects with minimal supervision. Strong self-motivation and initiative to identify and solve problems proactively. Ability to make informed decisions and take responsibility for outcomes. Ability to maintain productivity and quality of work while working autonomously. - Team Coordination, Coaching, and Training:
Providing clear and concise written and verbal instructions to team members and addressing any queries or issues promptly. Planning and organizing daily activities while delegating tasks efficiently. - Certifications:
Electrical or Electronic Technology certification preferred but not required. - Familiar with IEC style schematics.
- Knowledge of UL 508A design concepts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe ability to stand 8+ hours a day. The ability to reach and bend. The ability to frequently lift, push, or pull, up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity is required. The ability to wear all proper PPE as required. The employee must be able to work in a state of constant alertness and in a safe manner.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, machinery, tools, and more, as the Mechanics area coincides within Warehouse. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate depending on the scope of work.
