As a Production Planner in production control, you will play a critical role in planning, routing, and monitoring work throughout the manufacturing process. You will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and other departments to ensure materials, resources, and schedules align to meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Route and coordinate the manufacturing steps required for tools, dies, and precision components.
- Enter, maintain, and extract job‑related information within the MRP system.
- Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) in partnership with Engineering.
- Plan and organize shop floor schedules while balancing machine capacity, labor availability, and material constraints.
- Analyze production schedules, workflow, and manufacturing data to identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
- Coordinate the movement of work between departments, divisions, and outside vendors.
- Proactively communicate job status, priorities, and schedule changes with cross‑functional teams.
- Manage and reroute scrap, rework, and schedule disruptions to minimize production delays.
- Support on‑time delivery goals by ensuring work progresses efficiently through the manufacturing process.

Required:
- Manufacturing industry experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Working knowledge of Windows‑based computer applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand and process written correspondence and technical information.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
- U.S. citizenship or ability to comply with U.S. export regulations.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more years of experience in a tool and die, precision machining, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with MRP, ERP, scheduling, or production planning systems.
This position is primarily office‑based and involves extensive interaction with manufacturing departments. The role requires frequent travel throughout the facility to coordinate workflow and production activities while spending a significant portion of time working within computer‑based systems.
