Position: Team Leader - 2 Positions Available

Purpose of Role

The role of a Team Leader is to train, lead, empower, coordinate, and motivate a team to ensure continuity of output in line with agreed quality and performance targets. This is a working role so there is a requirement to work on the line whilst delivering that first line management support.

Planning Horizon
  • 1‑2 weeks for immediate plan
  • Monthly horizon for upcoming requirements to support decision making
Responsibilities
  • Lead a team ensuring full skill development to meet work objectives productively and safely.
  • Deliver training using up‑to‑date SOPs and sign‑off documents, maintaining an up‑to‑date Training Matrix.
  • Ensure daily production and quality targets are met through efficient resource allocation.
  • Allocate time effectively between output requirements and people‑management duties.
  • Effectively manage both team and individual performance, addressing issues in line with HR policy (e.g., 1:1s, IDPs, PPRs, return‑to‑work, timesheets).
  • Handle personnel issues, processes, and equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Drive productivity and maintain highest quality standards.
  • Communicate and report on KPIs to direct team and Shift Supervisor.
  • With Shift Supervisor support, plan, coordinate, and organise staff training and development for maximum flexibility.
  • Communicate all process and equipment problems to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage and monitor holiday and absence in line with HR policy.
  • Ensure consistent high levels of 5S within the work area.
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the level of the role.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role is not essential; show transferable skills.
  • Experience working in a production environment is desirable.
  • Able to use and understand operating systems and IT‑based packages.
