The Alliance is a Christ‑centered, Acts 1:8 family that is passionate about bringing Jesus to all of the world. The Eastern PA District of The Alliance, a regionally focused ministry, seeks a multiplying leader ready to bring the Gospel of Jesus to new communities through church planting in Philadelphia and help establish a regional network in the city.

Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize, develop, and lead the execution of a church‑planting strategy that yields a multiplying disciple‑making community in the city.
  • Oversee the cultivation of values, habits, and stories that create a culture of living with Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and commitment to His mission.
  • Effectively recruit, lead, develop, coach, and oversee the church‑planting team and its leadership to be Gospel‑rooted, courageous, and faith‑filled.
  • Live missionally in the neighborhood where the church is to be rooted.
  • Clearly and passionately communicate the Gospel in a variety of environments.
  • Care for the spiritual maturity and development of the church.
Basic Requirements
  • Clear articulation of personal faith in Jesus, demonstrated character qualities of a biblical elder, and affinity for the philosophy of ministry within the District (i.e., Gospel development in regional networks).
  • Licensed, or willing to be licensed, as an official worker of the Alliance.
  • Completion of the District’s discernment/assessment process before beginning the role.
  • Demonstrated experience of multiplication in the local church.
  • Understanding that the position requires licensing with The Christian & Missionary Alliance.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with starting ministries in new contexts, communities, and cultures.
  • Highly strategic, organized, entrepreneurial, with exceptional communication skills.
  • Creativity and willingness to try new approaches.
  • Established skills in crisis management, decision‑making, and relationship‑building.
Team Dynamics

Direct reports to the Executive Director of the district as part of the Philadelphia Church Planting Initiative.

Compensation

TBD based on Church Plant Development Plan.
