Job Summary

With a commitment to patient- and family-centered care, the professional nurse uses the nursing process to address the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of diverse patients served by Jefferson Health. Develops nursing plans of care with patients and their designated care partners to effectively meet individualized needs and priorities while respecting cultural beliefs and values.

• Interact with co-workers, patients, family/designated care partners, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.

• Specialized Diploma graduate from an accredited nursing school.
• Knowledge of patient‑ and family‑centered practice.

• Patient and designated care partner education competency.
• Medication administration and prescription knowledge.

• BLS – Basic Life Support certification.
• AHA – American Heart Association certification.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Pennsylvania Advanced Practice (PA) license.

• Bachelor’s Degree (BSN); completion within 3years of hire strongly preferred.
• One year of previous RN experience in an acute‑care setting.

• Active RN license required in state of practice.

• Lift and carry 40–50lbs (push/pull patients on bed, stretcher; require 29‑lb push force).
• Perform lateral transfers up to 50lb of patient weight.
• Frequent to continuous standing and walking; patient transporters may walk 8–10miles per shift.
• Perform kneeling, bending, squatting, CPR as required.
