The Rodney L. White Center for Financial Research at the Wharton School is seeking a Predoctoral Research Specialist to support the research of Professors Amy Huber, Karen Lewis, and Yao Zeng. The role involves hands‑on experience with data collection, quantitative analysis, and exposure to a wide range of financial research topics. The position is a full‑time, limited‑term appointment for two years (July 1 2026 – June 30 2028) and is not eligible for extension beyond the initial term.
Responsibilities• Support faculty research projects by collecting and managing data sets.
• Perform quantitative analysis using statistical software (STATA, Matlab, Python, Mathematica, or R).
• Prepare working papers, research notes, and reports for faculty and the Center.
• Attend research seminars, contribute to research discussions, and explore personal research interests.
• Participate in graduate‑level classes at Wharton as needed.
• Assist with select Rodney White Center programs and activities.
• Prepare for submission of research outputs to conferences and journals.
- BA/BS in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- 1–2 years of research experience, ideally while completing a bachelor’s degree.
- Proficiency with statistical software (STATA, Matlab, Python, Mathematica, or R).
- Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze data, derive insights, and write clear reports.
- Self‑directed, intrinsically motivated, and able to manage work independently.
Annual salary in the range of $57,000 – $61,000, plus benefits. The position is full‑time and limited‑term for two years.
