$14.40 – $19.15 per hour

Assist with the preparation, serving, and cleanup of the school breakfast and lunch program. Create an environment that provides a well‑balanced student breakfast and lunch program while maintaining a professional image of the school.

• Prepare food in accordance with established procedures and direction of the Head Cook.
• Assist the Head Cook in estimating the quantities of food for students and staff.
• Actively participate in the serving of food to students and staff.
• Assist and participate in the cleanup of all cafeteria‑related areas.
• Maintain required standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Become knowledgeable about the overall operation to ensure continuity and consistency of service in the event of personnel absence.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of safe operation of all kitchen equipment.
• Interact with students and staff in a courteous and positive manner.
• Actively participate in activities designed to improve the school lunch program.
• Perform other duties reasonably related to the Food Services function as assigned by the Head Cook, Principal, and/or Food Service Director.

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Knowledge of the food service industry with an understanding of nutrition, sanitation, and food safety (preferred).
• Serv Safe certification preferred.
• Cooking experience preferred.
• General working knowledge of computers preferred.
• Must demonstrate the ability to be highly structured and organized and have good communication skills.
• Must have obtained (or will obtain) valid PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Criminal History Background clearances within the past twelve (12) months.
