Position: Manager In Training (Part Time)

Job Summary

The Manager in Training is responsible for assisting the Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties. The role requires knowledge of each product area and the ability to promote sales and provide outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager in controlling store assets.
  • Help establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
  • Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Direct staff to ensure departmental responsibilities and standards are met.
  • Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
  • Assure quality customer service is maintained.
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed.
  • Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
  • Practice and uphold all company policies, procedures, and standards as listed in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals.
  • Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal controls and reporting potential fraud risk.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Conduct interviews, train employees, plan, assign, and direct work, and resolve problems in accordance with policy and applicable laws.
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of customer service experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a team to achieve goals.
  • Self‑starter with initiative to take on important tasks without supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision.
  • Team player passionate about outstanding customer service and merchandise sales.
