Job SummaryThe Regional Business Director leads the sales specialty team for their region, manages Account Managers, and partners with Marketing and Commercial organizations to develop and execute sales strategy. This role serves as a key leader in the marketplace, fulfills contractual obligations, and drives regional sales performance.
Responsibilities- Manage and lead sales personnel in the assigned region.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in hospitals and health systems to ensure access to Pacira products.
- Hire, develop, and oversee a team of direct reports.
- Ensure the region meets or exceeds sales goals and targets.
- Lead regional and territory business planning.
- Set and monitor divisional operating and expense budgets to ensure compliance and optimal use of resources.
- Track, monitor, and report on sales performance and progress.
- Work closely with hospital specialists to optimize resources and maximize sales goals.
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and Pacira policies.
- Regular business travel by air or car.
Lead the sales specialty team for the region, managing Account Managers.
InteractionWork closely with all functional areas and departments within the company.
Education and Experience- Minimum BA/BS from an accredited college or university; MBA or related graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hospital‑selling environment (OR experience preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of successful pharmaceutical, biologic/biotech, or medical device sales experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of sales management experience with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding financial and other quantitative targets.
- Prior experience with injectable products.
- Prior surgical suite experience is a plus.
- Prior experience with pain products preferred.
- Previous experience selling elastomeric bags is a plus.
- Previous pharmaceutical/biotech marketing or related experience preferred.
- Previous account management or managed‑care experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of navigating the formulary process.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to recruit, hire, and coach sales representatives.
- Demonstrated regional leadership, performance management, and career planning.
- Proven track record of executing sales and marketing plans at the regional level.
- Ability to quickly learn new products and train representatives.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
- Customer‑focused work ethic.
- Cross‑functional teamwork with internal stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel extensively; valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
- Must live in or near the designated geographic region.
The employee regularly sits, talks, moves between spaces, reaches with hands and arms, and stands for several hours. Often works in operating rooms and other hospital environments, requiring safe navigation and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Work EnvironmentWork occurs in hospital settings with exposure to computer use, close vision, and frequently navigating complex, crowded areas such as corridors, waiting rooms, and operating rooms.

The base pay range for this role is $172,000 to $225,750 per year, reflecting geographic markets, business needs, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.
