The Regional Business Director (RBD) provides leadership, direction, and developmental guidance to a team of Area Business Specialists (ABS) to achieve commercial objectives in assigned geography, reporting to the Vice President of Sales.
Essential Job Functions- Work with management to establish corporate objectives for the assigned region.
- Represent Xeris to internal/external customers and patients by delivering value and solutions.
- Collaborate with peers, marketing, and training to share information and implement regional initiatives/strategies.
- Ethically represent the company to external customers and support advancing patient care and outcomes.
- Engage subordinates frequently with regular field visits/business reviews; listen, coach, and identify/maximize opportunities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of key business/market issues, orphan disease marketplace, and interpersonal/teamwork skills.
- Hold representatives to consistent standards (account/territory knowledge, project management, product/clinical knowledge, selling skills, call/account planning and analysis, resource utilization, admin).
- Direct/manage region budget for maximum return; utilize meetings/conference calls effectively.
- Manage individual/team administrative responsibilities; build productive team; interview/hire; resolve personnel issues.
- BA/BS required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years pharmaceutical/biotech/orphan disease sales experience.
- 5+ years sales management experience strongly preferred.
- Valid US state-issued driver’s license required.
- Strong orphan disease sales process/distribution network knowledge.
- Management/leadership, teamwork, detail, self-starter, problem solving, organization, adaptability, professionalism, written/verbal communication, analytical, multitasking, decision-making, accountability.
- Periodic evening/weekend work as needed; periodic overnight travel; extensive overnight travel based on geography.
- Requires vehicle and air travel as necessary.
Anticipated base salary range: $200,000–$260,000.
