Position: Rare Disease Business Manager-PI/CIDP (Pittsburgh PA)

Rare Disease Business Manager – Primary Immune Deficiency and CIDP (Pittsburgh, PA)

U.S. Foundational Therapies Platform (FTP) brings together Takeda’s Immunology, Hematology, Lysosomal Storage Disorders (LSD), Alpha‑1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and Transplant portfolios to support patients who rely on long‑term treatment. The FTP team delivers the foundational capabilities that patients, caregivers and healthcare providers depend on at scale.

About the Team

We foster collaboration, accountability and respect for the patient experience. As part of the PI/CIDP Sales Team, you report to the Sr. Regional Business Director and work closely with Marketing, Patient Services, Alternate Site Team, Integrated Health Systems, Market Access and National Accounts.

How You Will Contribute
  • Achieve sales quotas through new patient starts, outpatient infusion center and hospital sales, and retention of patients on Takeda augmentation treatment.
  • Conduct customer engagements, deliver sales presentations, provide technical and administrative product information, and educate on neuromuscular conditions and Takeda support resources.
  • Understand influence points within the office and how each individual affects diagnosis, treatment and the prescription/referral/ordering process.
  • Participate in community education events, conferences and other outreach for healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Focus on HCPs in Allergy/Immunology, Pulmonology, Infectious Disease, selected Internal Medicine/Primary Care and Neurology.
  • Analyze local and regional business/managed markets trends to build long‑ and short‑term goals and a successful business plan.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure high customer satisfaction and pull‑through opportunities within each geography.

Minimum/Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree – BS/BA.
  • 3+ years of successful selling experience in pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device; or 2+ years at Takeda.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex selling environments and influence across key accounts.
  • Strong territory planning, strategic account management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to interpret analytical data to create effective sales strategies.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work within a matrix of cross‑functional partners.
  • Understanding of payer access and reimbursement at territory, regional and state levels.
  • Must reside within the territory.
Preferred Requirements
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience, preferably in rare disease.
  • Sales experience with biologic products requiring coordination with patient access and market access teams.
  • Relevant clinical or industry experience.
  • Consultative/needs‑based selling skills.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated marketplace.
  • Proficiency with emerging technologies, digital tools and openness to AI‑enabled processes.
Licenses / Certifications
  • Valid Driver's License.
Travel Requirements

Ability to drive or fly to accounts and occasional business meetings. Some overnight travel of up to 25‑50% may be required depending on geographic assignment.

Training Requirements

Position contingent upon successful completion of mandatory product training, which includes written and oral examinations. Training period is 8 hours per day, 40 hours total in a workweek. Upon successful passage, the employee transitions to exempt status and is eligible for incentive programs.

Compensation and Benefits Summary

Pittsburgh, PA (Hourly Wage)
