Role Overview
The Agriculture District Sales Manager is responsible for carrying out all sales and marketing activities in the territory to maintain, develop, and grow the overall sales volume in that territory in a manner that maximizes profitability.
Responsibilities- Plan and organize sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business goals.
- Plan and develop dealer/distributor network in specified territory according to the agreed market development strategy.
- Motivate dealers and distributors to promote a portfolio of products and services.
- Educate growers, dealers & distributors on new products.
- Conduct direct farm visits to growers to promote and sell a portfolio of products.
- Conduct direct visits to dealers and distributors to assist in selling a portfolio of products.
- Sell and service equipment related to the application of fertilizer products.
- Sell storage tanks related to the storage of fertilizer products.
- Deliver fertilizer, parts & equipment, and storage tanks to dealers and farmers.
- Conduct grower meetings to promote the use of products.
- Attend farm shows to promote the use of products and services.
- Locate and develop test plot locations as they relate to the research & development program.
- Manage and collect accounts receivable as required to keep receivables current.
- Proven experience in agricultural sales, preferably with fertilizer or crop protection products.
- Strong knowledge of local crops and market practices.
- Familiarity with fertilizer storage, application equipment, and product logistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
- You demonstrate leadership qualities.
- You’re able to influence cross‑functional teams and stakeholders without formal authority.
- You’re skilled at managing multiple projects.
- You have strong organizational skills and project planning.
- You have excellent communication skills.
Base compensation ranges from $95,700 to $134,120, with potential adjustments based on location, skills, and experience.
Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, paid vacation and holidays, a company vehicle, health, dental, vision, and mental health coverage, and a retirement plan with an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
