The Geospatial GIS Trainee position with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Bureau of Geological Survey provides hands-on experience in geospatial mapping and data analysis. The trainee will assist with creating geologic maps, learning GIS tools, analyzing geospatial data, and supporting scientific projects across Pennsylvania. This is a full-time permanent civil service role based in Middleton, Pennsylvania, ideal for individuals interested in technology, geoscience, and geological mapping.
Keyqualifications
- Active Geologist-in-Training certificate or bachelor's degree in geology, geophysics, geochemistry, engineering geology, or related field with 30 college credits in geologic coursework
- Current Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent
- Meet Pennsylvania residency requirements
- Experience or knowledge of GIS tools and geospatial methods
- Ability to work full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
