Calvary Church, Lancaster, PA
Status:
Full-time / Non-exempt
Focus:
This position supports Calvary Church by providing day-to-day maintenance and repair of facility systems-with a dedicated focus on MEP's (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) to ensure all occupants experience a comfortable, safe, and well-functioning environment.
Working Relationship:
Accountable to the Executive Pastor, with direct supervision from the Director of Facilities Services. A member of the Facilities Department Team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required; technical certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical systems strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of MEP trades experience, with demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and mechanical/equipment manuals.
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment and lead volunteer teams effectively.
- Must be a professing Christian who affirms the Calvary Church doctrinal basis, vision, values, and philosophy of ministry.
- Must regularly attend Calvary Church.
MEP's (Primary Focus)
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all HVAC systems, including air handlers, boilers, chillers, split systems, controls, and ventilation systems.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including fixtures, pumps, valves, domestic water systems, and drainage systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of mechanical rooms and all HVAC and plumbing system components.
- Maintain updated logs, service records, and inspection documentation for all mechanical systems.
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, circuits, receptacles, and building power distribution components.
- Perform routine inspections and coordinate repairs of the elevator system.
- Maintain and test fire suppression and sprinkler systems, working with certified vendors as required.
- Oversee the security system, including cameras, access control, alarms, and associated inspections.
- Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of building automation systems (BAS).
- Coordinate and schedule MEP contractors and vendors for large projects, specialized repairs, and regulatory inspections.
- Verify the quality and completion of vendor work and maintain all relevant service documentation.
- Perform diversified building maintenance including carpentry, painting, and basic repairs.
- Process and complete maintenance work orders efficiently and communicate progress with the Facilities Manager.
- Organize and maintain assigned tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Assist with construction/fabrication of stage sets, props, and other facility-related projects.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and follow proper safety procedures.
- Assist with event setups, teardowns, and cleanups.
- Perform custodial duties as required.
