POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sign Installer III will deliver, assemble and install signs according to client specifications and requirements. Installing small, medium, and large format signs, graphics, and lettering for walls, doors, floors, windows, and vehicles. A Sign Installer III will also meet with the client during the installation phase to confirm specifications and placement of the signs. Installation may require multiple visits to the sign installation location to collect information and confirm job requirements, which may include taking field measurements needed for projects.
Installation of pylons, channel letters, wall signs, directional signs etc. for clients of all industries. Installers should be able to climb and work at high altitudes in all-weather types, depending on the project. Sign Installer III need strong communication skills to understand different customer needs and requirements.
- Travel is required for the installation, service or repair of signs according to client specifications and on a variety of structures throughout the US.
- Accurately follow directions and read mechanical drawings to ensure the client’s specifications are met.
- Must be able Lead crew effectively through proper communication with all personnel and Ensure Safety is a priority.
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot fabrication and/or electrical issues discovered while installing, servicing or repairing signs at client locations.
- Must be able to quickly fix problems or issues encountered with tools, wiring, or signs during the installation, service or repair work.
- Installation of vinyl graphics including setting, placing and fitting the signs on structures according to client specifications. Could require on-site adjustments to cutting, placing, & assembling of various signs which include double sided, A-Frame, lot & yard signs.
- Maintain and operate crane and ladder trucks, JLG and scissor lifts, forklifts and heavy manufacturing machinery.
- Use power/non-power and measurement tools daily, such as, drills, hammers, wrenches, shovels, jackhammers, some welding, measuring tape and levelers.
- Lift, load, and unload all supplies and signs up to 150 lbs. physically and up to 1,000 lbs. with cranes or ladder trucks.
- Dig holes for sign bases, paint and installation of monument signs.
- Wire and test building, pylon and monument signs with high voltage.
- Perform/Coordinate accurate site surveys with detailed Measurements, Photos and Completed Survey packets.
- Routinely troubleshoot and fix problems encountered with tools, wiring, and sign installation.
- Inspect and survey worksite; ensure compliance with all company and state OSHA safety standards; use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety harness and appropriate protective gear.
- Regularly worked in all-weather conditions throughout the US and at heights of up to 120 feet to install signs.
- Installers MUST be able to get a DOT medical card and have a valid and current license with a clean driving record and no restrictions. This is a non-negotiable requirement of this position.
- A class B license a plus
- High school or GED diploma
- OSHA 30 required OSHA 40 a plus
- 2 to 4 years’ experience preferred, Management experience a plus
- Good communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings as well as a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to read and interpret various documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and related documentation.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility, and work under pressure to maintain schedules with quality work.
- Must be mechanically inclined and able to use tools, power equipment and digging equipment.
- Must expect to travel and work away from home the majority of the time, including frequent overnight stays and air travel.
- Must have up to date acceptable documentation in order to fly.
