Role DescriptionThis part-time, on‑site Asphalt Maintenance Specialist role is based in the State College Area. The specialist is responsible for performing pavement maintenance tasks such as crack filling, seal coating, asphalt repairs, and line striping according to project plans and safety standards. Daily work includes preparing job sites, operating and cleaning equipment, mixing and applying materials, and ensuring completed work meets quality specifications.
The role involves following preventive maintenance routines for tools and machinery, identifying issues in the field, and communicating effectively with supervisors and team members. The position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining a professional, customer‑focused approach on every job.
- Ability to perform general Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair tasks on asphalt surfaces and related equipment.
- Skills in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance to keep tools, machinery, and vehicles in safe working order.
- Troubleshooting skills to identify, diagnose, and address issues with asphalt surfaces, equipment, and project execution.
- Comfort working outdoors with physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and safe operation of maintenance equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in the State College–DuBois Area.
- Previous experience in asphalt, construction, or property maintenance is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
