Under close supervision and as assigned; and under general supervision or direction and as assigned, performs work on alltypesofelectronicequipmentforwhichtheyhavesuccessfullycompletedanyofthe

JobSkill Demonstrations.

• Assist higher classified personnel in the installation, troubleshooting, testing, calibration and maintenance of all types of electronic equipment used for both voice and data transmission such as two-way radio, microwave radio, fiber opticsystems and leased telephonecircuits.
  
  Also included in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, protective relaying andDCsystems.

• Assistsintheinvestigationofcustomers’radioandtelevisioninterferencecomplaints.

• Performsroutinebenchworkonalltypesofelectronicequipment.

• Makesfieldcorrectionstoprintsandpreparesfiledsketchesandreports.

• Performspaperworknecessaryforpreparationandcloseoutofassignedtasks.

• May be required to work in the fieldalone or with a helper of equal or lesser classification performing work of a simplified nature,providinghe/sheisfamiliarwithorhasreceivedproperinstruction,suchasobserveandmanuallyinitiatethe signalassociatedwith all communications channels,in conjunction with higherclassifiedpersonnelatthe opposite terminal of the channel.

• Performotherrelatedorlesserskilleddutiesforwhichhe/sheisqualified orhasreceivedproperinstructionordirection.

• Must have an Associate Degree in Electronics from a college or Technical Institute or have equivalent Military and Education, or have three years of recent experience as an electronics technician and must have a valid Associate Level or Journeyman Level ISCET Certification earned within the past four years from the date of posting

• Must become familiar with the Company Tagging Rules and qualify to be placed on the Company’s tagging list and must becomefamiliarwiththe

• Mustpossessandmaintainavaliddriver’slicense.

• As an Electronics Technician Jr. must complete six months but not more than two years of service in the Electronics Technician Jr. classification and must successfully complete Job Skill Demonstrations to progress to the next higher position of Electronics Technician

• Failure to successfully complete the requirements for advancement within 2 years will result in reassignment within the jurisdiction of the local union to an entry level position or any vacancy that has not been filled through posting for which he/she is qualified and will be restricted from bidding into the Electronics AMP until he/she has satisfactorily remediedthoseareasofdeficiency.
  
  Theaffectedindividualshallremaininhis/hercurrent classificationuntilsuchavacancyexists.
