THE POSITION
As a Social Worker Supervisor with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), you lead important work that supports veterans, their spouses, and their families. This position gives you the opportunity to guide social services and help ensure a positive and respectful experience for every resident at the Delaware Valley Veterans' Home. This position oversees social services for residents and provides leadership within the department to support quality care. As a Social Worker Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Department Oversight:
Supervise social services operations, direct counseling, and lead case management activities - Service Administration:
Maintain complete records of social services and oversee functions related to admissions, transfers, and discharges - Care Plan Participation:
Attend interdisciplinary meetings, complete resident assessments, and integrate assessments into care plans - Grievance Management:
Coordinate grievance processes and ensure follow through based on facility policy - Resident Counseling:
Provide counseling to residents and families using appropriate treatment approaches - Staff
Collaboration:
Promote teamwork, support training needs, and represent the department on committees
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:

- One year of experience as a Social Worker 2 or a Forensic Social Worker 2 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; and a master’s degree in social work or social welfare; or
- Three years of professional social work experience, including one year in a consultative, administrative, advisory, or lead work capacity; and a master’s degree in social work or social welfare.
- You must possess a valid license as a Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
