Kids Ministry Assistant

The Kids Ministry Assistant helps to create and initiate plans for the Kids Team to help children become growing followers of Jesus by teaching them to love God and to love people through age-appropriate biblical lessons. This person reports to the Kids Pastor.

Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt position requiring 40 hours per week. The schedule includes weekly services, special services as necessary, and office hours Monday through Thursday.

Experience and Abilities

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Previous administrative experience required. Experience working with preschool and elementary-aged children and parents is desired.
• License/Certification:
  Valid PA Driver's License.
• Specific Abilities:
  Computer and typing skills. Able to prioritize tasks and develop efficient systems for accomplishing routine tasks. Comfortable handling child-related issues and communication with parents and team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Effectively interacts and communicates pertinent information to volunteers which may include lessons, schedules, weekly promotions, emails and texts.
• Prepare the materials and classrooms (including the nursing mothers' room) for weekend and special services as needed.
• Miscellaneous duties including shopping for and ordering supplies.
• Cover phones for WC receptionist as scheduled.
• Lead ministry areas as needed.
• Assist with all aspects of special events, including things like kids baptism, Baby Dedication, Kids Camp, and Christmas Eve. Responsibilities include managing room and resource reservations, coordinating registration and materials, supporting programming and planning, ordering and organizing supplies, tracking rosters and attendance, updating participant profiles, communicating with families, and setting up and attending events as needed.
• Help plan, create, and execute all forms of media, including but not limited to print media, social media, digital media and worship media.
• Assist with the planning and implementation of theming for ministry environments, creating engaging and dynamic spaces for kids and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
