This position focuses on evaluating driver skills and ensuring that all applicants meet required standards for safe vehicle operation. As a Driver License Examiner, you will perform the following duties:
- Conduct Examinations: Carry out standardized skills and knowledge tests for Commercial and Non-Commercial Driver License applicants

Qualifications:
Evaluate applicant driving abilities, physical readiness, and vehicle conditions against established safety standards - Verify Compliance: Review applications and related documents for accuracy and investigate possible irregularities or fraud
- Inspect Equipment: Check vehicles for required safety features such as inspection stickers, lighting, and windshield wipers
- Administer Tests: Perform vision screenings and CDL-related exams, including knowledge, pre-trip, and driving tests
- Audit Programs: Monitor Third Party Examiners and Driver Education teachers for compliance with testing requirements

Work Schedule & Additional Information- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Work overtime and travel to other Driver License Centers when needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
- All positions require an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
- All positions require no suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment.
- All employees in this job hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
- This position requires possession of an active Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with the following endorsements: P and N. The Commercial Driver License cannot have any of the following restrictions: E, L, N, O, or Z.
