General Description

Accountable for accurate and timely delivery of product between CDC, branches, customer location and/or jobsites. Schedules vendor pickups or returns, responds to and schedules emergency deliveries, coordinates rooftop deliveries with crane company and customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reviews customers address in Eclipse to determine which route/trip customer should be placed in to ensure most efficient delivery route.
  • Updates and distributes route delivery schedules to all pertinent drivers, warehouse associates and sales to ensure proper loading and delivery sequence.
  • Ensures all daily routing is correct and orders are loaded on the proper route/trip.
  • Communicates with drivers, team leaders, and loaders to ensure orders are properly lined up for loading within each route for optimal delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Schedules and coordinates vendor pick up and return requests, as well as special customer pick up requests, through communication with drivers, branch managers, inventory compliance, shipping and receiving personnel and CDC manager.
  • Responds to and evaluates emergency and special delivery requests from inside sales, customers, drivers, branch managers and/or CDC manager, ensuring the request is reasonable and cost effective and within the limits of Company goals of exceptional customer service.
  • Through utilization of available personnel and equipment schedules emergency and special deliveries in the most cost efficient manner ensuring all parties are satisfied.
  • Schedules time sensitive rooftop deliveries accordingly, taking into consideration any necessary special equipment (cranes, forklifts, etc.) and manpower. In addition, coordinates such requests with customer, sales, drivers and shipping personnel for proper and efficient picking, loading, and delivery of such requests.
  • Ensures all non-leased, powered warehouse delivery equipment (vans, flatbed trailers, training trailer, etc.) are maintained and current with all required permits and licensees.
  • Reviews weekly driver logs to ensure all drivers are DOT compliant for hours worked rules. Files logs as required by the Federal Safety Motor Carrier Association.
  • Ensures proper item and quantity is delivered to the customer the following day. Ensures incorrect product is picked up at customer location and is returned into inventory.
Education and Experience
  • 5+ years in transportation and delivery operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience with fleet management, compliance, and strategic planning.
  • Strong leadership skills, experience managing large teams, and fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Familiarity with Samsara and Innova and route optimization tools.
